Darren Hanlon

Darren Hanlon is an Australian singer/songwriter from Gympie, Queensland, who plays folk-rock and folk-pop. Before becoming a solo artist in 1999, he was a member of The Simpletons, and contributed backing guitar and keyboards for The Lucksmiths, The Deerhunters, and Mick Thomas. He officially stepped out on his own in 1999, releasing his Early Days EP in 2000 and his full-length debut, Hello Stranger, in 2002. Darren followed his first album with an extensive range of material, including Little Chills (2004) and Fingertips & Mountaintops (2006), and has become known for his engagement with his audiences, through his down-to-earth storytelling at live gigs as well as his often charming lyrics. He will be touring Australia with legendary folk singer Michael Hurley in 2018.
