Parachute

Toby wears his parachute everywhere and it sure does come in handy.

There's the long trek down the bunk bed ladder in the morning for a start, not to mention scaling the dizzy heights of a step ladder to brush his teeth. Luckily, the parachute gives Toby the courage to deal with all the big things in life, including enormous elephants outside the gate! But when Toby's cat gets stuck at the top of a tree in the backyard and he uses the parachute to rescue him, how will Toby make it safely back to the ground without it?

Danny Parker's powerful story about a boy and his parachute is exquisitely illustrated by Matt Ottley and beautifully read by talented funny lady, Cal Wilson. At it's heart, Parachute is a sentimental tale about growing up and learning to let go of our safety nets, one step at a timebecause we all rely on a bit of support every now and then.
